This is a previously recorded workshop. You will have access to the recording of this workshop for 90 days. Once your purchase, I will send you an email with the access info!
Join Megan Shawkey @the_tatted_potter to learn more about throwing plates without using a mold and translating those skills to throwing large with 15inch platters! This workshop is aimed towards potters who have a good grasp on centering and are looking for tips and tricks to throw low and wide large forms like plates and platters. She will show different rim shapes and styles for plates, as well as how to center 7+ pounds of clay and walk through the steps for throwing large platters!
Megan Shawkey has been throwing on the wheel for 12 years now, first beginning her clay journey in a high school ceramics class. She went on to study Art Education at Appalachian State University with a concentration in ceramics and then taught high school ceramics for 4 years. While Megan transitioned out of the classroom she has continued her professional ceramics career from her home studio and sells at various craft fairs and markets.
