Lyndsay Meiklem Dean has been creating functional pottery for nearly 3 decades. She opened a community studio in 2002 where she shared her passion for clay with others and taught in person classes for 17yrs. Lyndsay has had the honor of serving on several Boards including The Potters Council, Friends of Slater Museum, Norwich Arts Council and she currently holds a seat on the Katherine Forest Crafts Foundation. Her work has appeared in Bon Appetit Digital Magazine and she has been a featured artist in ads for the L & L kiln manufacturing company in various ceramic periodicals. In 2018 she closed the community studio and opened Glaze Handmade, which currently houses her studio and retail shop in Stonington, CT. Lyndsay’s ethics and values are the driving force behind much of her work. She makes unique, fun and functional pottery that is often designed around fauna or flora themes and carries a message of compassion. She often uses her art as activism to collaborate with animal sanctuaries and other non profits for fundraising and advocacy. When she’s not creating pottery she’s usually creating vegan food!
