$20.00

Welcome to slip trailing, a fabulous way to add details and dimension to your ceramic work. In this class students will learn a variety of skills and techniques to insure success in the slip trailing technique. We will begin with the preparation of slip and discuss the various tools and preparation methods.  Next we will explore the opportunities and limits of this medium including many tips and tricks to perfection. While mastering a skill can take a lifetime- even a beginner can learn to use slip design in their work.

Hi! I am Laura Pennock, a full time artist and pottery enthusiast. I have been playing in clay for 20 years. As a professional face and body artist I make a living in human surface decoration. It is no wonder that my ceramic life would follow the trend. After throwing the initial form- my art experience becomes consumed with surface decoration. I enjoy underglazes, transfers, carving- but slip trailing is one of my favorite ways to give a piece its signature texture and look. My work has been sold at festivals, shops and a prominent gallery in Lawrence KS. I love the people that love clay. I am so excited anytime I get to work with other potters- learning new things, making memories, and creating art that will last forever.

Once you purchase the workshop, you will receive an email with the Zoom link and any other info that you need before joining! You’ll receive a recording of the 1.5-2 hour session, as well, for 6 months of access.
